as i was laying down to write this, i got an email from a long-time TDT reader.

subject: TDT saturday edition?
body: "is the lesson here that all good things need breaks? because i don't like that lesson :)"

i laughed, and thought aw: i can't believe he noticed. it means the world.

but no, that isn't the lesson. there is no lesson. only the reality, which is that some days are filled with lazy snuggle mornings and breakfast with your person and marie kondo-omg your apartment with your friend who deeply loves to clean and then drinking margaritas because it makes it way easier to get rid of old concert tees and then after a full time of cleaning you go to the cool punky bar to celebrate another friends birthday and you get home and think "oops, i meant to send a note earlier but... life."

see? no lesson. just the reality of life. happy saturday.
