friends are fun
the daily taryn
a daily writing project about everything and maybe also nothing
january 28th, 2019
Today was the least Monday Monday of all time. I had a hilarious day at work — my coworker and I are trying to finish a never-ending project, and literally had 5 1-hour meetings throughout the day to get it done. We met in 4 different rooms with 4 different people and laughed to the point of tears on a few occasions. It was fun work.
Tonight, 5 friends grabbed dinner and drinks before we met with ~6 other friends to watch another one of our friends at his improv grad show. We cheered extra loud and laughed at the other people (even when they weren't funny) and laughed very deeply hard at the middle-aged men who were very cutely taking improv classes and were actually hilarious. At one point, I was having more fun watching Anthony laugh than I was at what the guy was saying.
I hugged a lot of friends tonight. I made a lot of eye contact and told some stories and heard a lot of good ones, too. People said really sweet things to me, like how they wanted to spend a whole Saturday with me, or that they were surprised and glad I asked them to spend time together tonight.
It might sound simple, but I'm laying in my bed super happy at the little life I've created so far. I'm smiling extra big knowing that today is just the beginning of the rest of my life. How fucking cool that it's been this great so far,
Talk tomorrow,
Your friend,
Taryn
