you know what’s fun? being proud of yourself.
i don’t feel it often. in fact, one of the last times i really felt it was when i was doing the daily taryn consistently. thanks for being part of it <3
and yet, and i don’t think i’ve felt it as much as i do right now.
this week, i launched the tumler deck. here she is:
it’s a deck of cards that has thought provoking questions written on them.
because :
1. i love playing cards and think you should always keep a deck on hand.
2. i love good questions and think you should always keep a few on hand.
there's a lot of card decks. there's a lot of conversation cards. but there are not many that do both - a deck that works as a normal playing card deck that also has thought provoking questions on each card. play cards, get to know each other, all with a single deck that's vintage, gender-neutral designed and something you want to keep in your bag.
but why the name? what is "the tumler"?
glad you asked. my grandma (RIP mimsy) always used to tell me I was a tumler — it's a yiddish word for the person who gets the party going. she said i was always a starter — i get games, conversation, fun going. i've later learned that this word has negative connotations too — someone annoying, causing raucous for nothing. since Mim is gone and i can control her meaning in hindsight, i know she meant it the good way.
not every group has a tumler — the person who is willing to break the silence and take initiative to get something going.
but this deck? this deck is your tumler. it works every time.
i started selling on monday and have been SHOCKED by the excitement around it, especially before people even have it in hand. i can’t wait to see how people use it.
if you want to see more pics, learn more, or grab a deck, click this lil button and know i’ll be forever grateful.
i had many times throughout this process where i wanted to bail, and years of pushing off starting. now that it’s here — in my hand, and soon in yours — i am so fucking proud of myself for doing this.
thanks for listening to me yap about it — even that means you’re a part of it.
talk soon.
your friend,
taryn
