So here’s the thing…sometimes I’m in bed (wifey sleeping peacefully beside me) and I’m mindlessly doing all the stupid stuff my little phone allows me to do. Things like google dumb stuff that just pops into my little brain that if I don’t check it out immediately it will be stuck in my head for the rest of the night keeping me awake or get caught up in some crazy TicToc algorithm FYP crap that I can’t stop looking at or read my emails and that is how it’s now 4am and I need to get up at 8 but I still stopped to read your I Saw a Thing Today. Now I’m happy your work got me out of my head for the moment and I’m once again going to try to get some sleep 😴

The social media vicious cycle is HARD to escape. I uninstalled an app blocker after 3 months of "breathe for 6s before opening Instagram" thinking I don't need it anymore. But maybe I do every once in a while.
Closing and reopening apps. Youtube, instagram, youtube again or instagram or X. In both platforms the content is very compelling to watch but I was tired of the excitement. So I just decided to force myself to go back to my reading. Thanks for sharing this Taryn💛
Well, thankfully I used my swiping time where I could’ve gotten sadder to be here reading this! Now I’m 1% less sad as a result! Very introspective as always. Thank you for sharing :)

I feel the same way about streaming platforms.
I low-key miss having to wait a week for a new episode because I was forced to excercise self control.
Don't get me wrong, I love a quick 8 episode binge on my day off - but the constant access to content is more draining than entertaining
