Thanks putting yourself out there and asking this question. I have to say that, sadly, I would continue with the free version alone because (1) I love your writing and wouldn't want to lose touch with you; (2) I'm an aspiring-to-actually-be-published writer and spend my spare change on submission fees; and (3) I'm really old - 75 this year - and don't have a lot of spare change lying around.
Hi, Julie! I hope your writing is going well. As someone who isn’t a writer, the “little things” in the paid subscription have actually kick started me to start journaling. I hope maybe they help inspire your writing too. Enjoy a year, on me!
Hi, Court K! What a treat - and what timing! Just getting over the flu (doctor ran out of flu vaccine before he got to me - boo!) and found your gift in my in-box. BTW, I have gotten a short story published in an on-line literary journal since my original post. http://potatosoupjournal.com/killing-hogs-by-julie-means-kane/. Yay me!
I live in a different country. If I have to specify it, South Korea lol. I got to know you after watching the cammie YouTube video and followed your Instagram. As I kept watching, I fell in love with your humor, humanity, and inspiration. It's really good to read what you wrote. It's so fun to get to know about you, taryn.
There are so many different people in the world. I thought I shouldn't live stuck in a narrow view. Thank you for always(?umm..maybe? lol) positive, pleasant, and inspiring me.
Well, I saw other people's comments, and I think it'll be okay if it's that much. I'll be your fan from afar. My English is a bit awkward? Please understand that. (Laughs)
RONI! thank you for your response - your english is awesome, so don't knock it! your words mean a lot to me and i'll carry them always <3 hello to south korea!
okay first off, sorry I don't follow you on Instagram, it's because I don't have Instagram, and that's because I don't really get the difference between Instagram and Facebook... I have the later and it's all I need.
Back to the question at hand.... I think I'd be comfy with either paying $3 to $5 for a monthly subscription type of thing for a newsletter every Friday. I really think it would be worth my money.
Now, I feel as though I have to justify myself as to why I am going to spend money on a newsletter.... Not gonna lie, I've been a subscriber since I googled you and subscribed after watching one of Cammies videos, I think this was sometime during 2020. So I've been subscribed for a while, yet even though I've been reading your writing for this long, I get excited when I get an email from the daily Taryn. It makes my day to read the newsletters, and I bet it's the same for others too....
....I think what I'm trying to say is, that having a more frequent notification pop-up from you would be really cool. :)
you're the sweetest and i totally get not wanting to have instagram! it can definitely be overwhelming, so i get it. and of course thank you for subscribing to me :)
Just wanna say that I remember when I read your newsletter back in 2020 when I started following you and it really pulled me in. Then I became your subscriber and everytime I get a notification on my phone of your newsletter I can´t wait to read it. Honestly it always brightens up my day.
What I´m trying to say is that when i read your stuff it gives a new perspective on things or it gives me a new ideas, hope and I could keep going. Also I can see a little bit of myself in you honestly.
I would be willing to or simply I would really love to support you and your stuff and I think it´s definitely worth it. So I think that $5-6 is suitable, something in the middle. It´s not too cheap nor too expensive in my opinion. Others can see it differently of course.
top of the morning vicky -- thank you x1000 for your way too kind response, and more so for reading and appreciating anything i put out into the world. thank you thank you thank you.
to be honest I found you because of cammie but I'm staying because of YOU (don't get me wrong, I will always love/support cammie 😉). What I'm trying to say is, that whatever I read, hear or see from you is a perfect combination of inspiring and relatable for me. I would love to chat in real life because I think your great, but since that is unrealistic, I will take anything I get via the internet 😅.
BUT right now I'm not in a place where I can pay monthly for a newsletter, I'm sorry! As soon as that changes, you will definitely have one more "premium member" (although I really don't like that term...)
Keep up the great work, keep being you!
All the best
P.S: Sorry for any mistakes, English is not my mother tongue
Hey, Taryn – your content is always something I take the time to read. I feel like we're hangin' over a drink and chatting when your newsletters pop into my inbox. I feel like I'd pay $5 a month, because if I had the chance to grab coffee with you one month, would 100 percent insist you let me pay for that. Sending good vibes from Chicago ~ Erica
Hi, Taryn -

I'm trying to remedy #3 with Buy Me a Coffee (https://www.buymeacoffee.com/JulieMeansKane), so I will be interested to know what your readers think. Please let us know.
Lots of hugs,
Julie
